XSLPalette 1.3.3 Released
![]()
It’s been a while since I talked about or (released a new version of) XSLPalette, so a refresher… XSLPalette is a devleoper-focused OS X desktop application that allows you to execute XSLT and XQuery programs using a multitude of different C- and Java-based XSLT and XQuery engines. Perfect for testing your XSLT or XQuery code for interoperability across engines and platforms.
Specifically, XSLPalette bundles libxslt, NSXML, Saxon, XalanJ, and XT.
XSLPalette is presented as a smallish floating utility panel — it floats above all other windows by default. The idea is that XSLPalette can be used with any IDE or text editor you like (say, TextMate, BBEdit or XCode), and it kinda appears as if XSLPalette were just an XSLT/XQuery-debugging plugin for your editor.
1.3.3 is a bug fix release that should resolve classpath issues that prevented XSLPalette from working for many users.
Also a couple of small treats:
- The bundled version of Saxon-B has also been updated to 8.9.
-
I’ve added one small feature: a user default for making the XSLPalette window a non-floating panel. This will prevent XSLPalette from floating above all other windows if you so desire:
defaults write us.dalo.XSLPalette floatingPanel -bool NO
