BlogMate 0.5 with Twitter support
I’ve just released version 0.5 of BlogMate. This release adds a few fixes for Movable Type blogs and adds support for posting to Twitter from BlogMate.
You set up your Twitter account in the BlogMate palette pretty much just like you setup your other blogging accounts. Then you can post (but not delete or edit) items to your Twitter account using the BlogMate palette much like posting to your blog.
BlogMate is now a TextMate Bundle as well as Plug-In. This bundle currently exists just to facilitate better Twitter support. Since Twitter is so lightweight, it’s often desirable to just select some text in the frontmost TM window, and type a keyboard command to post the selection to your Twitter account (rather than showing the entire BlogMate palette, selecting your Twitter account, etc). The BlogMate Bundle contains a command to do just this: Send Document / Selection to Twitter (ctl-opt-cmd-t). The BlogMate Bundle also contains a convenient Character Count of Document / Selection (ctl-opt-cmd-c) command (Twitter limit is 160).
Note that the BlogMate Bundle depends on the BlogMate Plug-In. You must install both and setup your Twitter account in the BlogMate palette to use the bundle’s Twitter commands.
