JavaScript iPod
Although it behaves much better on a page by itself, here’s a complete rewrite of a JavaScript iPod i did about a year and a half ago. While the first one took me about a week, this one only took about four hours. JavaScript, CSS, and XHTML source are all included in the page linked above.
NOTE: I’ve removed this demo moved it permanently to it’s own dedicated page: HERE.
My mom just asked if I was going to patent this now before Microsoft does… She’s pretty hip to the tech news, obviously.
It pretty much works in at least the following browsers, although some exhibit varying degrees of graphics weirdness bugs depending on how much other CSS is on the page. There are a few small IE glitches that could be improved, but I really don’t care to spend the time (at least on a demo).
- IE 6
- IE 5.5
- IE 5
- Firefox/Moz/Camino
- Safari
- Opera 8
- OmniWeb 5.1
Perfomance on my PowerBook is best in Safari 2.0 by far. Safari and WebKit continue to outpace both Mozilla and Opera in terms of perfomance and standards-compliance. If you’re on a Mac and using Firefox, I highly recommend switching to Safari or a derivative. At least check it out if you haven’t in a while.
